In accordance with Washington State law and Washington State Democratic Party rules, every two years the Thurston County Democrats adopt new bylaws and elect new officers at an "organization meeting." This meeting is scheduled for Monday, December 1, 2008 and all Precinct Committee Officers officially elected this year during the August primary will receive an official letter "calling" them to this meeting.
To facilitate an understanding of what occurs at the upcoming organization meeting, the members of this year's Bylaws Review Committee thought it would be helpful to offer an introductory orientation prior to the official ogranization meeting. You should have received a postcard inviting you to this orientation, which will be Wednesday, November 12, from 7 to 9 PM at the Thurston County Courthouse (the large courtroom in Bldg 2).
Each section of the new proposed bylaws will be reviewed at the November 12 orientation. The proposed bylaws are available below and we encourage you to read them before the meeting.
