Thurston County Democrats

I hope you are all well and having a great Holiday Week!

This is an announcement that our January TCD meeting is specially scheduled for Monday, January 5, at 7:00 PM.  We will be in room 152, building 1 at the Thurston County Courthouse (Confirmed)

We are having this specially scheduled meeting due to the critical need to get recommendations of three candidates to Commissioners Wolfe, and Romero, so they can choose the Commissioner that will replace Commissioner Macleod after his retirement January 1st.

Note: the first step in our selection process happens Saturday the 3rd 1:00-4:00 PM in the large courtroom 129, Building 2 at the Thurston County Courthouse (Confirmed). This will include a moderated forum of the applicants followed by a nonbinding vote by the elected PCO’s from the 3rd Commissioner District. This vote will produced a ranked list of the candidates that will sent on to the full Central Committee for use in making their decision. ***EDIT - This meeting has happened and the results can be seen here***

On Monday the 5th we will only have one hour devoted to this topic so if you need more information than the application materials linked here, or a three minute speech from each candidate before voting, then I highly encourage you to attend Saturday’s forum to observe.

The agenda for this special meeting will be limited to the Central Committee (PCO’s) hearing from and then voting for three of the commissioner candidates; and a forum to hear from those who are running for the Chair of the Washington State Democrats.

We will resume our regularly scheduled monthly meetings on February 23rd (4th Monday).

The Food Bank desperately needs donations do please remember to bring one or more non-perishable items for donation to the Thurston County Food Bank.
