Bulk Mail Permit for Approved Campaigns

If you have been approved for campaign services, you are entitled to use our bulk mailing permit for your campaign's promotional mailings.  The following is a brief description of the process.  Please send us an email at campaignservices@thurstondemocrats.org and we'll send you the bulk mail permit indicia.  We will send you two files.  One file will contain the phrase "Return Service Requested", and the other file will not include that phrase.

If you use the indicia with the phrase "Return Service Requested", the post office will return any undeliverable pieces to you but you will have to pay 1st class postage (.41) for each returned piece.  This may be useful if you want to maintain an up-to-date mailing list but if you don't care if you have the correct mailing address then use the indicia WITHOUT the return service requested phrase.

Here are 6 easy steps to follow:
  1. Email us so we can send you our bulk mail permit indicia for your mailing.
  2. Print the indicia on the upper right corner of the piece (where the stamp would normally go).
  3. Bring the prepared mailing sorted & bundled (150 piece bundles) by zip code (by 5 digit if 150+ with the same zip code, then by 3 digit (985**), then whatever else (mixed zips). The bulk mail office is at 717 SW 76th Ave, off of EXIT (not highway) 101. Their number is 704.4841. They are open until 10am-5:30pm and until 9am-noon and 12:30-4pm on Saturdays.
  4. The Bulk Mail Unit will help you fill out the form and will tell you an exact dollar amount that you have to pay for bulk mail postage.
  5. Leave the mailing with the Bulk Mail Unit and take a check in the amount determined in Step 4 to the nearest post office (on Israel Rd.) and deposit the check into Bulk Permit #228.
  6. You're done!
